James qualified with a Masters in Chiropractic from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in 2002. Chiropractic and rehab helped James to make a good recovery from a serious road traffic accident that he suffered in 2011, so he has extensive experience of both sides of the bench – both as a practitioner and as a patient!
James specialises in:
- Back and neck pain
- Lower back injuries and SI issues
- Headaches
- Jaw pain (TMJ)
- Repetitive strain injuries (RSI or RSIs)
His processional interests include applying chiropractic to in an industrial or work setting, working with sports men and women to overcome injury and enhance performance, chronic neck pain and lower back pain.
Treatment modalities that James uses include various chiropractic techniques such as Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead, SOT and Activator. He uses soft tissue techniques ranging from deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy to dry needling (medical acupuncture) and Kinesio as well as stretching, home exercises and ergonomic advice as appropriate.
He has worked with some of the UK’s most major manufacturers applying chiropractic to an industrial setting for employees – assessing production line ergonomics and workstations, treating repetitive strain injuries, and advising on how to reduce workplace induced injury risk.
James and is an avid motor sports fan, especially motorbikes, which James has enjoyed riding. He also loves rugby and supports Gloucester Rugby Club. He has successfully treated professional sports players including rugby players, throughout his career.
When he is not working James is a busy and devoted dad to two daughters.
James is registered with the General Chiropractic Council and is a full member of the British Chiropractic Association. He is also recognised by most private health insurance companies including Bupa and Axa.
