Struggling with a long term back injury gained from sport since his teens, Simon consulted a Chiropractor in his early twenties and made an amazing recovery from years of pain. He was inspired to learn more about Chiropractic, and went on to gain a place at the University of Surrey’s European Institute of Health and Medical Science in Guildford, where he completed his second degree – a clinical Master of Science in Chiropractic.
After working in very well reputed Bristol clinics for three years Simon branched out on his own to establish the Longlevens Chiropractic & Sports Injury Clinic in 2005.
Simon has a strong professional background in sport, exercise and rehabilitation coupled with vast experience in treating a wide range of injuries. He has built his practice upon a reputation for sound “evidence-based” care. To each and every chiropractic patient his clinic offers an accurate diagnosis and clear understanding of what is wrong, effective treatment to start recovery, and individually tailored treatment plans to strengthen and support an injury, ensuring things stay well in the long term.
Unlike many clinics, Simon’s practice realises the importance of enabling patients to be “self-sufficient” and not reliant on constant treatment of the same problem again and again.
His professional interests include low back pain, neck pain, lower limb injuries, sports injuries, whiplash and diagnostic ultrasound. Simon treats a wide range of patients of all ages, including many National and International athletes from a wide range of sports.
At home Simon enjoys a wide range of sports such as football, rugby, volleyball and cricket. A very enthusiastic and successful golfer, Simon has competed at club, county, and regional levels with a playing handicap of two. When not in clinic he is kept busy with 2 young sons, a Newfoundland called Molly who weighs over 8 stone, and a little Pug called Poppy!
Simon is a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP). He is fully licensed under the General Chiropractic Council, is a full member of the British Chiropractic Association, and also the Royal College of Chiropractors, British Chiropractic Sports Council and European Chiropractors Union. Simon is a recognised and qualified tutor on the Royal College of Chiropractor’s PRTS training scheme. He continues to further his qualifications and is currently undertaking a post-graduate course in diagnostic ultrasound.
Registered as a treatment provider with all of the main healthcare insurance companies, Simon is recognised by companies such as BUPA, AXA PPP, Aviva, Norwich Union, WPA, Simply Health, HSA and Standard Life, and many others. He also works with legal and insurance claims such as those made after road traffic accidents and accidents in the workplace.
