BCA chiropractors are trained to recognise “red flag” signs when assessing patients for low back pain
Newspapers yesterday reported that the risk of bowel cancer has doubled in a single generation. Cancer Research UK has reported that while in 1975 the risk of a man developing bowel cancer was one in 29, it is now one in 15. For women, the risk has gone from one in 29 to one in 19.
British Chiropractic Association Chairman, Richard Brown, states that as primary health care providers, BCA chiropractors are aware of so-called “red flag” signs when assessing patients for low back pain. As he says, the importance of careful assessment both at the initial interview and regularly thereafter cannot be overemphasised.
The website www.beatingbowelcancer.org has excellent information for patients and healthcare professionals about bowel cancer.
