Taping and Strapping
At the Longlevens Chiropractic & Sports Injury Clinic in Gloucester, we offer advanced taping techniques, including Kinesio taping and Dynamic Taping, suitable for both sports and non-sports related injuries.
Kinesio taping, developed by Japanese chiropractor Dr Kenzo Kase in the 1970s, is known for its ability to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, relax muscles, enhance performance, aid rehabilitation, and support muscles during events. The tape is thin, elastic, and stretchy, creating a pulling force on the skin or muscle it’s applied to, influencing the muscle’s functionality depending on the tape’s direction, shape, and location.
Dynamic Taping, devised by Australian Musculoskeletal Physio Ryan Kendrick, uses tapes with varying strengths and recoil properties. They act like a spring or external muscle to manage load and movement, helping to maintain function without restricting motion. This method is widely used by elite athletes and sports professionals.
The benefits of taping include correcting weak muscle alignment, facilitating joint motion, lifting the skin to enhance blood and lymphatic flow, thereby relieving pain and accelerating injury recovery. The concept is based on fascial unloading – reducing tissue pressure.
In Gloucester, James Hood is qualified in Dynamic Taping, and Danny Adams specialises in Taping and Strapping. For appointments and more details, please contact us at 01452 309372 or visit our Fees Page.

Having been a regular at a chiropractor in Cheltenham and now having moved to Longlevens I am so happy to have found Longlevens Chiro. I booked in for a consultation and treatment with Jenny and she was wonderful. We ran through my history and previous treatments before moving onto my appointment. Very professional environment and very happy with the service. I would highly recommend to anyone.
